In 2012, IPBF participated for the first time in The Meal, a large convivial and solidarity meal with the objective of sharing a meal to support farmers from all over the world, advocate for food sovereignty as well as indigenous people’s right to access natural resources: land, water, forests and seeds. For this first time, the activity was addressed to children under the theme of hygiene and health.
A hundred children from the rural commune of Saaba attended the event and participated in drawing and coloring activities. They also received snacks made from local products and benefited from an awareness session and demonstration of hand washing techniques.
